Each member of our core team has between 10 and 20 years of experience in marketing, strategic communications, writing, digital communications, graphic design or email marketing. Together, our team’s collective years of experience in marketing and communications totals more than 75 years — with two-thirds of that time spent in the email marketing industry.

Katey Charles Darpel

President and Founder
Katey founded Katey Charles Communications in 2003 to meet the growing need for expert consulting and creative services in the emerging email marketing industry. Since then she has helped her clients grow their email databases and send strategic email marketing campaigns that establish positive B2B and B2C relationships, and, importantly, drive sales. Katey thrives on personally getting to know her clients and their businesses so that she can provide personalized, sound counsel.
 

Katey’s true passion is excellence in communication in any form. She has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, strategic communications, writing, editing and graphic design for a wide range of media including email, web, print and radio. This broad perspective helps her understand the vital role email marketing plays in an overall marketing and communications strategy. Katey received her master’s degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.

 

She lives in Kirkwood, Missouri, with her husband, Joe, and her two young sons. She loves to read and cook and is the go-to writer, graphic designer and technical support provider in her extended family.

Linda Wesley

Account Manager
The Katey Charles Communications creative services and consulting team relies on Linda to manage a variety of client projects.Whether it’s pulling insights from a dizzying array of email metrics or managing a rush email campaign, Linda delivers.
 
Results-oriented and logical, Linda draws on more than 15 years of experience in communications and marketing for corporations, nonprofits and public health. In addition to her expertise in email marketing, Linda is also a copy editor, writer and communications strategist. Linda has a Bachelor of Journalism and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
 
Linda has been with the Katey Charles Communications team since May 2014, but she’s also a former client of KCC. She and her husband live in Oklahoma City. When she’s not cooking up a new email strategy, Linda is often cooking up a new dish. She loves baking, cooking and — at the end of a long week — teaming up with her husband to brew their own beer.

Anne Willis

Senior Graphic Designer, Template Coder
It’s one thing to be a talented designer, which Anne is. It’s another thing entirely to program those designs for an ever-changing email landscape. She does that, too. This exceptional blend of creative and technical skills allows Anne to conceptualize, design and program dynamic, mobile-friendly and mobile-responsive email templates that clients love.
 
Anne has more than 20 years of graphic design experience. She is a team player who prides herself on aligning her design work with the objectives of the clients she serves. She’s an excellent communicator, and she also is versatile, flexible, detail-oriented and delivers designs on time and on budget. She has designed emails for Katey Charles Communications since 2006. Anne has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from Kansas City Art Institute.
 
She lives in Kirkwood, Missouri, with her husband and children. When she’s not knee deep in code, she enjoys hanging out with her two kids, doing yoga, cooking and reading.

Christine Stidham

Client Services and Administration

Christine thrives at organization, creating procedures and streamlining processes whenever and wherever possible. She handles incoming calls, invoicing, payables, receivables and generally keeps everything in order for the KCC team.
 

Christine has been with Katey Charles Communications team since 2015. She has more than 15 years of experience in customer relations and administrative work. She is detail-oriented and provides personalized, quality service to our clients as well as our team. And she does it all with a great sense of humor!

 

Christine has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Rockhurst University in Kansas City. She lives in Prairie Village, Kansas, with her husband and three children. She enjoys reading, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
